DIY Shadow Box Gift

DIY Asian Shadow Box

Would you believe me if I told you that I made this shadow box for under $10?

Well guess what? You shouldn’t, because I actually made it for under $5! {You should know by now that Dollarama is my best friend!}

Three years ago I made every. single. person. in my family one of these shadow boxes… All 10 of them! They liked them. At least that is what they told me. Most of them still have them displayed in their homes, but then again they could always just put it out when I come over… Have you ever done that? I’ve never done that, but I imagine people do…

Anyways… it doesn’t take much to make this gift…

Dollar Store Shadow Box DIYA 5×7 wooden shadow box (painted black), a patterned wine gift bag, some textured “handmade” paper, an 8.5×11 sheet of paper – any colour you like for printing your message, a rock or any other little trinket, and lotsa hot glue.

From there, you just use your imagination! Yup that thing inside your noggin that comes up with brilliant ideas – use it! And be creative!

Layer the materials inside the shadow box however you like… Mine was an Asian theme, since the first thing I purchased was the bag; I instantly fell in love with it!

Once you are finished, and everything is nicely secured to the back of the shadow box, you can close ‘er up!

Honestly the possibilities are endless with this type of project… its all about what inspires you.

What theme or colour scheme would you use if you were to create a shadow box?

If you decide to create one, make sure you come back here and leave a link, I would love to see what you come up with!
