Ottawa Road Trip Part 2: Out & About in Bytown

Bright and early Saturday morning we got ready and headed over to the show.

The weather didn’t look promising out the window first thing in the morning… (it ended up raining during the day, but it ended up being sunny out by the time the show was over at 6:00pm).

I opted to make up a quick mug of oatmeal with peanut butter and dried cranberries before heading out for the day. I am glad I did! Not only was it yummy, it prevented me from ordering a donut at Tim Horton’s, and kept me feeling full all morning!

At 6:00pm, Nikki and I headed back the hotel to park the van, and then headed downtown for dinner.

It was a nice 25 minute walk. We both snapped tons of photos on the way…

When we arrived downtown there we these hilarious street performers called “The Stunt Double Circus.”

Hahaha! Super talented bunch of guys! They reminded me of Hot Rod! LOL
Have you ever stopped to watch street performers?

I was psyched, just psyched, when we walked past the BeaverTails!! I can’t even express to you how delicious these things are! I told Nikki we were for sure hitting that up after dinner!

So we headed to one of our favourite restaurants, Lone Star Texas Grill, for dinner!

They have a huge menu, but we mainly go there for their freshly made Tortilla Chips and Salsa.

And of course after a long day at work, nothing hit the spot like a big mug of Coors Light!

Nikki and I ended up ordering the same thing… The Lone Star Fajita Wrap.

It was delicious! I could only eat half (it was pretty big), which was good because I ate the remaining half in the car on the way home!

And of course, we ended the night (started the walk back to the hotel) with a Sugar & Cinnamon BeaverTail! I can’t describe the utter enjoyment that was felt when I bit into this thing… pure heaven!

Sunday was a pretty hectic day. We had to not only work the show, but tear-down, pack up, and drive home!

It was a pretty chill drive home. We were on the road by 6:15pm, and made it home by 12:15pm, which was not bad. As you can tell, I was exhausted upon arrival, and was excited to sleep in my own bed!

All and all it was a fun little trip. I am always thankful that I have a job that allows me to not only travel, but to travel and have fun… and not to mention all the swag you score when you make friends with other exhibitors at the show…

Hahah, more on this later!!
