Just a Typical Canadian Long Weekend + A Sneak Peek

What you see above is what I would call a typical Canadian long weekend – wood, screws, glue, power-tools. When my sisters and I were little, long weekends were reserved for trips “up north” to my grandparents house in the woods. That’s where my fascination with summer DIY’s began. From birdhouses to jewelry boxes, you could always find us in Grandpa’s workshop constructing something.

When The Home Depot approached me and asked if I would be interested in taking part in their Summer DIY Challenge, I instantly knew all those “summer practice sessions” in Grandpa’s workshop weren’t for nothing… I accepted their challenge.

So on this typical Canadian long weekend, “J” and I got started our project. What is it? You’ll have to wait for the Big Reveal to see…
