Can we get personal for just a minute? I would like to talk about body hair. No shame, body hair is a fact of life. Every woman has body hair; thick, thin, light, dark… it’s there. I remember when I was about 14 I started to notice prickly little hairs on my legs. They weren’t dark, but they were prickly, and I wanted them gone! One night I snuck into the bathroom, picked up my stepmom’s razor, and shaved my legs. There are two reasons I will never forget this moment: 1) I didn’t use any shaving cream, or even water for that matter 2) the next day I had the worst razor burn… like ever.
So while I save up for total body laser hair removal, I’ve been searching for better, long lasting ways to remove body hair. I’ve tried shaving, depilatory creams, and even had enough courage once to savagely rip one self waxing strip from my leg (um, never again!). Of course you see instant results with both methods, but nothing that is long lasting or super effective at eliminating hair all together.
Enter Philips’ SatinPerfect Epilator & BikiniGenie. As part of Phllips’ new Beauty Blogger Challenge, I was provided with a SatinPerfect Epilator & BikiniGenie and asked to use them for 30 days and document the results. I had never heard of an Epilator before, and was pleasantly surprised to discover it produces better long term result than shaving.
Philips SatinPerfect Epilator
Epilators have rapidly rotating discs that trap hairs and pull them out by the roots. The textured discs remove even the shortest hairs in the gentlest way. The texture reinforces the sturdiness of the discs, ensures more efficient hair catching, and allows soft, close contact with the skin around each hair to prevent pulling. This may be initially uncomfortable, but the results are semi-permanent as some hairs never grow back.
Create the length and shape you want quickly and easily, without any nicks or cuts. The Philips range of trimmers allows you to trim hairs to different lengths for versatile styles in your bikini area.
Follow me on Twitter as I chronicle 30 days of hairless results. I’ll be checking back in after 30 days to talk about my experience, and share my thoughts on the results.
What are your favourite hair removal methods? Have you ever tried an epilator?
