The Best of the 2013 One of a Kind Show

Ever since my first visit to the One of a Kind Show last year, I have been very much looking forward to this one of a kind event (pardon the pun!). The One of a Kind Show, which started this past weekend and runs until December 8th, is the place to buy unique gifts and support local artists this holiday season. With handmade items from over 800 artisan, you will shop until you drop (no seriously, by the time I was done walking the show floor I needed to take a nap!)

Impressed & inspired by what this large, talented group of makers, designers, craftspeople and artists can create, I pulled together by Top 7 Favourite Finds from the 2013 One of a Kind Show

7. Blisscraft and Brazen // Wine Rack Made From Reclaimed Materials

Blisscraft-and-Brazen-Wine-Rack

There are a few people on my shopping list (including myself) who would love to receive this simple yet functional wine rack made from reclaimed materials. But that’s not all Blisscraft and Brazen have to offer, their Etsy Shop is packed full of awesome things for you and your home.

6. Monkey Butter // Gourmet Peanut Butters

If you know me, then you know how much I love peanut butter… and these gourmet peanut butters from Monkey Butter don’t disappoint. With flavours like White Chocolate Raspberry, Dark Chocolate Banana, and Maple Bacon, who needs toast when you can eat this with your fingers!

5. Jenanne Longman // Ceramics & Pottery

Jenanne-Longman-Ceramics

Jenanne Longman takes ceramics to the next level! Her stunning use of texture, colours, and words bring her pieces to life. Jenanne’s French Industrial Tumbler was actually the very first thing that caught my eye once arriving at the show… and for obvious reasons!

4. Melanie Leblanc // Jewellery & Objects D’Art

Melanie-Leblanc-Jewellery

I have a thing for pieces of jewellery that resemble nature’s works of art… branches, feathers, stones, and bones; all a thing of beauty, brought to life in Melanie LeBlanc’s fine jewellery. I must have stood at Melanie’s display case for 10 minutes taking in all her intricate pieces of work… simply stunning.

3. Maude Blais // Ceramics

I was most definitely drawn to Maude’s gorgeous ceramics because of their simple, yet fun design. From bold black and white, to soft yellows and turquoise, these ceramic bowls and vessels just might make their way into my home….

2. Black Bird Pottery // Ceramics, Porcelain & Pottery

I couldn’t help but be immediately drawn to Black Bird Pottery’s bold and graphic bowls and mugs. I can’t get enough of birch trees and feathers, so when I spotted these bowls adorned with feather prints I knew I had to have one!

1. Subtle Details // Polymer Clay Art

Subtle Details actually had me wishing I had a baby so I could decorate a nursery with this jaw-dropping framed alphabet sculpture. It would make the perfect gift for a mother-to-be!

A special thank you to the One of a Kind Show for inviting me to attend, I am already looking forward to the spring show!
