I Could Live Here: Farmhouse Kitchen Island

For some reason there is one item I have always wanted in my dream kitchen – an island. I am not sure why… maybe because there is something glamorous about having an island in your kitchen. Or maybe because an island brings guests into the heart of your home – encouraging them to gather around and enjoy the company. No matter the reason, when I first saw Margot Austin’s farmhouse kitchen in the September 2007 issue of Style at Home, I fell in love with her island. A simply stunning antique reclaimed farmhouse island.

With so many options to choose from, I tend to gravitate towards anything rustic looking, like this stunner from Williams-Sonoma. I also can’t help but love anything with a marble top… so classy and clean!
