Gramma’s Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Description

I don’t believe in trying to improve on an already sure thing, that’s why this recipe is exactly as my gramma would make it (including the Miracle Whip!!). This dense bread is dotted with melty chocolate chips and is best served warm from the oven!


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Miracle Whip
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Sprinkle of nutmeg & cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 350C.
  2. Soften butter and whip sugar into butter.
  3. Add bananas, egg, miracle whip. Beat thoroughly.
  4. Mix together dry ingredients, then slowly add to wet mixture until well incorporated.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour into loaf pan and bake for 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
  7. Enjoy warm with a smear of cinnamon honey butter.
