Guest Post: Console Tables by Sweetsuite10

Hi Everyone! My name is Michelle and you can find me at Sweetsuite10 where I generally blog about my efforts to furnish and decorate my first home. I’m honoured that Brittany has asked me to guest post on her wonderful blog.

When I first moved into my condo just over two years ago I had nothing in my living room except the sideboard I inherited from the previous owner, and my desk. Since then I’ve accumulated a few more pieces, but I’ve generally just pushed it up against the walls.

A few months ago I discovered an online tool that allowed me to virtually rearrange my living room furniture so I could test out a few different floor plans without having to do any heavy lifting. I came up with 6 plans, and after careful thought I think this one will be work best:

This plan has one small problem – If I put my couch out in the middle of the room I believe there should be a table behind it to hold lamps and break up the long expanse of sofa. Because I don’t currently have a console table, I’ve been searching the internet for some that I think may work…

Clockwise from Top Left: Grove Solid Walnut Console Table – Room & Board – $1799, Echelon Console Table – Crate & Barrel – $499, Vandyke Console Table – Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams – $1555, Woodard Skinny Gold Leaf Console – Zinc Door – $1186, Frame Console Table – Crate & Barrel – $599, Stockholm Console Table – $199 – Ikea, Foundry Console Table – CB2 – $299

These tables cover a wide range in terms of price and unsurprisingly my favorite is one of the more expensive ones. While I may dream of the Woodard console table my budget won’t allow for it. Of the more economical options I think the Foundry table will work best as my sofa is quite long. Before I make any purchases though, I’ll have to get my muscles warmed up and move my furniture around to ensure that the furniture placement looks as good in real life as it does online.

What do you think? Which of the tables do you like best?
