Exercise Work Out

It’s been a while old friend…

Wow, can you believe that it has been over two months since I stepped foot in my gym!!? Craziness I know!!

That doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything… I have actually taken my training outside. There is nothing more relaxing and motivating as running outside on a sunny summer day.

On average I think that I have been clocking somewhere around 30-40km {18-24 miles} per week in prep for my 10km marathon in September…

but….

two weeks ago I started to get really really bad shin splint, so I have been taken’er easy for the past little while… and since it was raining today I decided it was time to get active again and head to the gym.

My Session:
Elliptical Crosstrainer

606 calories
9045 strides
60 minutes + 5 minute cool down

Abs:

20 reverse crunches with leg extensions
20 crunches
20 reverse crunches
40 Seated Oblique Twist with 5lb ball
One thing that I have definitely neglected since I started running is strength training!! {Bad me, i know!!} So, for the next month and a half leading up to my marathon, I am going to at least try to head to the gym twice a week to do a strength training session… Big words now; this might prove to be difficult… :S

What activities have you been up to this summer? Rollerblading? Maybe swimming?

I would love to get a bike and start biking, but unfortunately i just don’t have the $$$ right now 🙁
