Description

Watch out, this holiday appetizer is a crowd-pleaser! Buttery puff pastry is bursting with the flavours of fresh asparagus, cured prosciutto, and creamy Canadian cheese… your guests will definitely come back for seconds!

Ingredients

Scale

2 (10×10″) sheets butter puff pastry, cut into 12 squares
12 slices Baluchon
12 slices Boerenkaas
12 slices prosciutto
24 asparagus spears, ends removed
1 egg, lightly beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Place six squares of butter puff pastry on each baking sheet. Top first square of pastry with one slice of Baluchon and one slice of Boerenkaas. Wrap one slice prosciutto around two asparagus spears; place on top of cheese slices. Fold over opposite corners of pastry and lightly press them together to seal. Repeat with all others. Brush with beaten egg.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes until pastry is golden brown and light & flaky.
