You’re So Country… Elmira Maple Syrup Festival
Gosh, I do love a good small town festival! I’m a sucker for the unique vendors, delicious foods, and running into old friends you haven’t seen in years…
In September, the fam and I headed to our hometown festival {The Apple Butter & Cheese}… but this past weekend we headed to a festival that we have been going to ever since we were little… The Elmira Maple Syrup Festival.
Saturday was sunny, but still a bit chilly at +2C (35F)… don’t get me wrong, we consider this great weather!! I remember when we were little, some years we would be in full snow gear and it would either be raining or snowing… not ideal…
This was Jax’s first time going… he seemed to enjoy playing with my brother the whole time… and even managed to finish a {very large} hot dog by himself… impressed!
I know I have declared my love for anything sweet several times here… and here… so it probably won’t surprise you when I say I can never go to a festival without having Apple Fritters… Amanda and I waited in line for almost 15 minutes to get our fix… totally worth it! We followed that up with a Chicken Donair… sooo good!
It was pretty crowded when we got there at 9:15am, but by the time 11:30 rolled around you could barely move… We maxed out at about 3 hours and packed it in and headed home…
Do you enjoy going to local festivals? What ones are your favourites? What is one thing that you HAVE to do when you attend?
