Cottaging Part 1: Fill Me Up!
I love going to my cottage, I really do! I don’t know why I don’t do it more often… we always have fun, and it is great spending time with the fam! {we are a weird and crazy bunch!}
This weekends’ trip to the cottage went just as expected… fun, relaxing, and FILLING!
I don’t know about you, but there is something about being at the cottage that makes me want to eat, eat, and eat! I made so much yummy food I can’t even tell you… {but I can show you!}
Dinner Friday Night: Turkey Sausage on a bun, SP Fries, Corn on the Cob
Breakfast Saturday Morning: WW Toast, Fried Egg, Asparagus, COOFFFEE!
Mid Morning Snack: Apple & Banana
Lunch: Starvin’ Marvin Salad {consists of spinach, broc, cauliflower, carrots, crumbled crackers, Italian dressing}, 2 small-ish chicken thighs {I prefer dark meat} with BBQ sauce.
Mid-Day Snack: Strawberries and yogurt with Homemade Christmas Granola {yes my grandparents still had some left, lucky me!}
Dinner: REPEAT! Turkey Sausage on a bun, SP Fries, Corn on the Cob, Asparagus
Evening Drinks: Muuuuudslide!!! Yahhhh! {Love these BTW, it’s gotta be my favourite drink}
Sunday Morning Breakfast: Toasted Tomato Sandwich, COOFFEEE!
The rest of the day was spent on the road… so there were no pics taken, but I can tell you that once sister, nephew and I got home, we enjoyed a medium pizza… or I more or less enjoyed half a medium pizza… add that to the McDonalds ice cream cone, and the cookies I ate later that evening, and we are looking at quite the run scheduled for Monday!
It’s funny, I love taking pics of my food, I do it all the time at home, but when you are sitting the table with family and friends having a mini photo-shoot with you food {and the SP Fries won’t cooperate for your perfect shot!} they of course look at you funny and wonder what the hell you are doing.
I think my gramma asked me 4 or 5 times why… all I say is “for the blog…” I get a blank stare, and that’s it… until the next meal.
On thing that I should mention, because it would be a shame if I didn’t include it, would be the 5 s’mores I ate out at the campfire! Yikes I know… but sweets are my weaknesssss! I only eat them at the cottage sooooo {I guess I might be there every weekend… haha just kidding}.
How do you eat when you are on vacation? Is it a free for all? Or do you eat more healthy?
I eat like it’s going out of style! Portions? What’s that? lol. Weekends are my “don’t worry about the calorie content” time.
